Configure Controlled Substances
Set safety and routing options for controlled-substance workflows.
Configure controlled-substance settings when your practice needs state routing and safety checks.
Who does this: Clinic administrators.
Steps
Open Settings.
Open Controlled Substances.
Enter Primary PDMP state in Program routing.
Choose Adapter and review Credential status in PDMP integration.
Choose Drug-drug interaction display in Safety policy.
Turn Block on missing DEA fields on or off.
Select Save changes.
Controlled-substance workflows use the updated safety settings.
Common pitfall: Credential status is shown for review only. Credential changes may require an administrator workflow.
Troubleshooting
The state code will not save. Use a two-letter state code.
A provider is blocked from ordering. Check whether required DEA fields are missing from the provider profile.
