Add a New Patient
Create a patient record from the Patients page.
Add a patient before scheduling, assigning paperwork, or opening a chart.
Who does this: Front desk staff and clinic administrators.
Steps
Open Patients from the main menu.
Select Add Patient.
Enter First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth in Basic Information.
Select Preferred Language.
Enter Email and any phone details for an adult patient.
Enter Guardian Name and Guardian Email for a minor patient.
Add optional details such as MRN, PAT ID, and Provider Name.
Select Add Patient.
The new patient record is added to Patients.
Common pitfall: If a duplicate warning appears, open the existing record instead of adding another one.
Troubleshooting
The form will not save. Check required fields and make sure the email address is valid.
The patient is a minor. Enter guardian details before saving.
