Manage Treatment Plans

Create, edit, share, or deactivate treatment plans from a patient chart.

Manage treatment plans from the patient chart so the patient can review care instructions after a visit.

Who does this: Providers and clinic administrators.

Steps

Open Patients from the main menu.

Find the patient and open the chart.

Open Treatment plans.

Select the new plan action.

Enter the Treatment plan title.

Write the plan details.

Select Save & notify.

The treatment plan is saved and the patient is notified.

Use the plan actions menu later to choose Edit plan, Copy treatment link, Deactivate plan, or Delete plan.

Common pitfall: Deactivated plans remain in the chart but are no longer active for the patient.

Troubleshooting

The patient did not get the plan. Check the patient's email address before saving again.

I need to revise the plan. Open the plan actions menu and choose Edit plan.
